A VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY WITH A LOVE FOR LACROSSE
At our league, community is at the heart of everything we do. Behind the scenes, there are countless volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to make sure that our athletes have the best experience possible. From coaching to organizing events, these volunteers (who are often parents themselves) go above and beyond to create a positive and inclusive environment for everyone involved. We are so grateful for their hard work and dedication, and we couldn't do it without them. So next time you see a volunteer on the sidelines or helping out at an event, be sure to give them a big thank you!
A BRIEF HISTORY
In 2022, Mad River Lacrosse and Waterbury Lacrosse Leauges merged to form Highlander Youth Lacrosse League. In combining, we are able to pool our resources and have a stronger program. When we have strong numbers for a given team, we will often split into two teams with BLUE practicing closer to Waterbury at Crossett Brook Middle School and GREEN practicing closer to the Valley at Mad River Park. This allows players to get more play time during both practices and games.
